RiverBooks is in early access
Running a one-person business means doing three jobs: the work itself, the selling, and the paperwork. RiverBooks is meant to take the third one off your plate.
It’s built for sole proprietors and single-member LLCs that file Schedule C, starting with Washington State, where sales tax depends on where each job happens and B&O tax applies to gross receipts. Those rules are the reason so many small businesses in Washington end up with a spreadsheet next to their accounting software. RiverBooks keeps them in the books instead.
What’s in it today:
- Scheduling with a booking page, reminders and Google Calendar sync.
- Estimates, invoices, recurring billing and online payments through Stripe.
- Bank feeds with suggested categories and rules, receipts, mileage, bills and 1099s.
- Cash and accrual reports with a chart of accounts mapped to Schedule C.
- Federal estimates with quarterly amounts, and the Washington combined excise return prepared from your invoices.
- Moving over from QuickBooks Online, checked to the cent.
- River, an assistant that answers questions from your books and prepares work for you to approve.
One rule runs through all of it: nothing moves money or files anything without your OK.
